Pinecones
A fabulous Fenton Art Glass sand-carved cameo vase by Kelsey Murphy and Robert Bomkamp of West Virginia; they named the vase "Pinecones". The vase is made of Emerald Green glass overlaid with White Milk Glass, and is from the Studio Fenton Collection. Both glass colors have a satin matte finish, and this makes the dark green really stand out! The design of pinecones and pine branches goes all around the vase. The bottom has an elaborate design in Milk Glass that has a satin finish, and the top has a slick white rim around the neck of the vase.
Sand-carving is a very elaborate process, involving distinct stages of successive carving to remove portions of glass to create depth and intricate details. The vase is a true work of art!
On the bottom of the vase is a matte white finish and in the center is the Fenton incised logo, and underneath, the artists have signed - Kelsey / Bomkamp. Beneath the signatures, the vase is hand numbered ... this one is #?/750.
